The Central Kowloon Bypass (Yau Ma Tei Section) officially opened today (Dec. 21) at 10 am, providing a more convenient travel experience for citizens commuting between West Kowloon and East Kowloon. Many citizens gathered, riding motorcycles in groups to witness this historic moment of the Central Kowloon Bypass's opening.
The Central Kowloon Bypass (Yau Ma Tei Section) spans 4.7 kilometers, connecting the Yau Ma Tei Interchange in West Kowloon with the Kai Tak Development Area and the Kowloon Bypass road network in East Kowloon. With the route now open, the travel time from Yau Ma Tei to Kowloon Bypass is expected to be reduced from 30 minutes to just 5 minutes, significantly alleviating traffic congestion and benefiting commuters in multiple districts.
