The Hong Kong High Court has ruled that Jimmy Lai is guilty of two counts of conspiracy to collude with foreign forces and one count of conspiracy to publish seditious publications. I firmly support the Hong Kong judiciary's fair handling of the case according to the law.
The handling of this case clearly demonstrates the Hong Kong SAR's unwavering determination to safeguard national security, sending a clear message to those engaged in activities that harm national security: illegal activities detrimental to national security will be pursued under the law, and such individuals will not be allowed to go unpunished. The independent judiciary's rigorous and solemn proceedings reaffirm the integrity of Hong Kong's rule of law, proving the independence and professionalism of our judicial institutions, and projecting a positive professional image of Hong Kong's judiciary to the international community. The independence of judicial power and the final appellate authority is fully protected by the Basic Law, and no one, including foreign forces, has the right to interfere with the fair and independent adjudication of Hong Kong's judicial institutions. Therefore, those who attempt to intervene in the judiciary through public opinion and affect the court's fair handling of cases are merely deluding themselves!
Jimmy Lai has long engaged in anti-China and destabilizing activities in Hong Kong, severely endangering national security. His actions during the "anti-amendment incident" gravely harmed Hong Kong's prosperity and stability, inflicting significant trauma on Hong Kong society. During that incident, he manipulated the media to mislead the public, incited youth, poisoned society, and even colluded with foreign forces to undermine his own country. Such activities cannot be tolerated by the law and will not be accepted by the many patriotic Hong Kong citizens, who rightly expect severe legal consequences.
I believe that the National Security Law has ended the long-standing chaos in Hong Kong, effectively bringing stability to the region. Under the protection of the National Security Law, Hong Kong's prosperity and stability are firmly secured. The positive situation in Hong Kong cannot be shaken by any individual or force, including anti-China factions! The judiciary's fair trial has effectively revealed the facts and exposed their wrongdoing to the public, while Hong Kong citizens will open their eyes to recognize the ugly reality of these individuals even more clearly. I believe that as legal consequences for those who harm Hong Kong are systematically enforced, the positive energy in Hong Kong society will continue to grow, and the conscious maintenance of national security will become a consensus across society. A Hong Kong free from past shadows will emerge on the international stage even stronger than before.
