Tonight (Dec. 14), the WTT Hong Kong Finals men's singles final took place at the Hong Kong Coliseum, featuring Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto against Sweden's Truls Moregard, the men's singles silver medalist at the Paris Olympics. Ultimately, Harimoto triumphed with a 4-2 victory to claim the men's singles championship. The scores across the six games were: 11-8, 5-11, 11-9, 10-12, 14-12, and 11-2.
In his earlier matches, Harimoto defeated Simon Gauzy, Felix Lebrun, and Lin Shidong to advance to the men's singles final. This marks Harimoto's fourth appearance in the WTT Finals men's singles final, having finished as runner-up in his previous three attempts. In a prior interview, Harimoto admitted that this time, he had "no choice but to win the title."
As for Moregard, he advanced to the final after Wang Chuqin withdrew from the semifinal due to injury.
