In the WTT Hong Kong Finals, Chinese table tennis stars Sun Yingsha and Wang Chuqin have withdrawn from their respective matches due to injuries. In response, WTT issued a statement emphasizing that the health, well-being, and long-term development of athletes are their top priorities. The organization extended its sincere wishes to the two athletes for a speedy recovery.
The joint statement reads: "WTT and the Hong Kong, China Table Tennis Association (HKTTA) fully understand the concern many fans will feel following Wang Chuqin's withdrawal from his Men's Singles semifinal. We share these sentiments and greatly value the collective support and care that fans continue to show for our athletes. The health and well-being of our athletes will always come first, and we know that, ultimately, fans care about that too – they want to see their favourite players able to compete at their best for many years to come. We wish Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha a full and speedy recovery and the very best of health, and we thank all supporters for their understanding.
