A shooting occurred on the campus of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, on Dec. 13 (local time). Police reported multiple gunshot wounds and are searching for the shooter. The university stated that at least two people died and eight were seriously injured.
The incident occurred around 4 pm local time on Saturday, during the second day of final exams. The university issued an emergency alert, urging students and faculty to seek shelter.
Police cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt for the shooter. A large number of police officers arrived at the scene, along with FBI agents.
