The men's singles semifinal of the 2025 WTT Hong Kong Finals will take place this afternoon (Dec. 14). Swedish player Truls Moregardh will face Chinese player Wang Chuqin.
In an interview with DotDotNews, Moregardh shared his thoughts on going up against China's national team member Wang Chuqin. He said that playing matches with Wang is always enjoyable and that their games are often highly intense. He anticipates that today's match will be challenging, especially since almost all the fans in the arena will be cheering for Wang. Still, he looks forward to embracing the experience.
Speaking about competing at the Hong Kong Coliseum, Moregardh described it as a dream come true to play in such an iconic venue and in front of a packed audience.
In the men's singles quarterfinals held on the evening of Dec. 12, Moregardh faced Lin Yun-ju from Chinese Taipei. Moregardh ultimately secured a 4-2 victory, with the set scores being 6-11, 7-11, 12-10, 11-4, 11-2, and 11-5.
Reflecting on his match against Lin, Moregardh expressed satisfaction with his performance. He mentioned that he and Lin are good friends and know each other very well, having trained together for a long time. Acknowledging the difficulty of the match, he said he was delighted to come out on top.
