The 2025 WTT Hong Kong Finals continued today (Dec. 13). In the men's singles quarterfinals, Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto battled through a grueling seven-game match, narrowly defeating France's Felix Lebrun 4–3 to secure a spot in the semifinals. Harimoto will face China's Lin Shidong in the next round.
After the match, Harimoto spoke to the media, saying, "I'm very happy. Honestly, I didn't expect to beat him (Felix Lebrun)."
He noted that Lebrun had a 3–1 lead at one point, but the match eventually went to a deciding game. Harimoto added that the small point gaps didn't affect him much, as he trusted himself to make a comeback.
When asked about his confidence heading into the next match, Harimoto stated that he had already finished as runner-up three times. "Second place is a good result, but I'm still not satisfied," he said. "The only result I can truly be happy with is winning the championship. This is my fifth attempt, and I feel that I must take the title this time."
