The Hong Kong Observatory issued a special weather alert at noon today, warning that a cold front will move across the coastal areas of Guangdong later this afternoon, bringing strengthened northerly winds, occasional rain showers, and a sharp drop in temperatures.

According to the Observatory, the urban areas of Hong Kong are expected to experience a minimum temperature of around 14°C tomorrow morning (Dec. 14), while some parts of the New Territories may feel even colder. The cool weather is expected to persist into Monday morning (Dec. 15).

Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather information, keep warm, and take extra care of the elderly and people with chronic illnesses, who may be more vulnerable to sudden temperature changes.
