Today (December 7) marks Legislative Council (LegCo) election day, with enthusiastic participation from the public across all sectors, as they actively fulfill their civic responsibility by voting.
At the polling station located in the Kowloon Park Sports Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, DotDotNews reporters observed a notable number of ethnic minority voters from diverse backgrounds coming forward to cast their votes, demonstrating their concern for and active participation in Hong Kong society.
Nineteen-year-old Abdul Aziz Khan, a first-time voter, and Ravinder, a retired businessman from India who ran a small business in HK, both completed their voting at the Kowloon Park Sports Centre polling station. They also called on their communities and all expatriates living in HK to actively participate in the election, collectively making their voices heard for a better future for both HK and themselves.
As a first-time voter, Abdul sees HK as his home. He believes that policies are fair to everyone and is particularly concerned about issues related to healthcare and education.
Ravinder, on the other hand, expressed his satisfaction with HK's current systems, saying that he enjoys life as a resident here. He also welcomed further improvements to the system and expressed his hope that the new LegCo will continue driving social progress.
