The Hong Kong Observatory has forecasted mostly cloudy weather for today (Dec. 3), with occasional light rain in the morning. Daytime temperatures are expected to hover around 21°C, gradually dropping to a minimum of about 19°C in urban areas by evening, with temperatures in the New Territories dipping a degree or two lower. Moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds are expected, with occasional strong winds offshore tonight.
The Observatory noted that a northeast monsoon will affect the coastal areas of Guangdong over the next two to three days, while the cloud bands covering southern China will gradually thin out.
A replenishment of the dry northeast monsoon is expected to bring generally fine and dry weather to southern China from the weekend into early next week, with significant day-night temperature differences in inland areas.
The Observatory predicts cooler mornings with improving weather over the next two to three days, turning sunny and dry from the weekend into early next week.
