The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) reported today (Nov 28) that a dry northeast monsoon has been bringing very dry weather to the coastal areas of Guangdong, including Hong Kong.
As of 10 a.m., Severe Tropical Storm Koinu was located about 280 kilometers northwest of the Nansha Islands and was moving slowly northwestward across the southern part of the South China Sea.
According to the Observatory, today's weather in Hong Kong is expected to be generally fine and very dry, with moderate to fresh northerly winds. Occasionally, we expect strong winds offshore and on high ground in the early part of the day, which later transition into moderate easterly to northeasterly winds.
The HKO forecasts that tomorrow will remain mostly sunny and dry, while relative humidity is expected to increase early next week, with more cloudy weather and a few rain patches.
