On the afternoon of Nov. 26, a No. 5 alarm fire broke out at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, resulting in severe casualties. Hong Kong music legend Alan Tam recently performed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he initiated a charitable act during his concert that was met with an overwhelming response from the entire audience.
Tam first personally donated 300,000 Malaysian Ringgit (RM), after which the event organizer, Star Planet, contributed an additional 200,000 RM. The audience actively participated, and the total amount raised eventually reached 655,373 RM (approximately HK$1,228,044). To ensure full transparency regarding the use of the donations, all funds raised at the venue were verified on-site by the licensed auditing firm CCS & Co PLT.
Tam also took the opportunity to specially express his respect to the firefighters, police officers, selfless volunteers, spontaneously organized teams, and all the caring individuals who contributed to the rescue efforts. He urged everyone not only to provide financial support but, more importantly, to continue offering warmth, understanding, and companionship to the affected families and everyone around them, ensuring that care is not limited to a single moment and that love and strength are continuously passed on, accumulated, and sustained.
George Lam and Sally Yeh, who are currently on tour in Chengdu, along with their crew, were deeply saddened upon learning about the fire in Tai Po. During rehearsals, they specially recorded Every Single Night as a tribute to the people of Hong Kong, encouraging everyone to unite and overcome this difficult time together.
Music is an embrace that can span thousands of miles. The entire cast and crew wholeheartedly presented the song Every Single Night to commemorate the victims of the fire and to pay tribute to the firefighters and volunteers working on the front lines.
