The Hong Kong Observatory stated today (Nov. 27) that under the influence of a replenishing northeast monsoon with strong winds, temperatures along the Guangdong coast will drop slightly over the next two days, with generally sunny and very dry conditions during the day and large temperature differences between day and night. In Hong Kong, the relative humidity in many areas fell to 30% or below this morning.

The Observatory predicts that today will be mostly sunny and very dry in Hong Kong, with moderate to fresh north to northeast winds. There will be occasional strong winds offshore, with higher areas experiencing gales. Looking ahead to the next few days, tomorrow will be sunny and very dry, with initially strong winds. Morning temperatures in urban areas will drop to around 15 to 16 degrees, with New Territories temperatures slightly lower. On Saturday (Nov. 29), it will gradually become partly cloudy, with a chance of light rain over the next couple of days.

A fire broke out at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po yesterday (Nov. 26) at 2:51 pm, escalating to No. 3 at 3:02 pm, to No. 4 at 3:34 pm, and to No. 5 at 6:22 pm. The fire resulted in multiple casualties.

The Chairman of the Hong Kong Construction Industry Employees General Union, Chau Sze-kit, earlier analyzed that the severity of the No. 5 fire at Wang Fuk Court may have been exacerbated by the construction site's perimeter not using fire-retardant materials or employing expired fire-retardant barriers. Additionally, construction waste or flammable materials may have been present on the scaffolding. Experts also noted that the dry weather and strong winds contributed significantly to the fire's ferocity.

The Hong Kong Red Cross recommends that if the public feels anxious due to major incidents, they can take the following measures:

1. Pause Engagement with Related News or Social Media Clips

Repeatedly viewing footage of the incident can intensify anxiety and emotional fluctuations. It is advisable to temporarily stop browsing videos, news, or social media content related to the incident to give yourself some breathing space.

2. Be Aware of Your Emotional Reactions

Experiencing worry, fear, anger, insomnia, or persistent memories of the incident after a major accident is a normal stress response. If these conditions persist or affect daily life, seek support promptly.

3. Consider Utilizing Psychological Support Services

The Hong Kong Red Cross offers the "Shall We Talk" psychological support service. If you feel anxious, panicked, or unsure how to adjust your emotions, you can call (+852) 5164 5040 or contact via Telegram @hkrcshallwetalk for an appointment, where support will be provided by professionally trained staff or volunteers.
