In a candid two-episode feature of the TVB variety show, Jackson Wang revealed that he has undergone cosmetic surgery and skeletal adjustments, commonly referred to as "bone therapy."
The globally recognized artist admitted, "As an entertainer, cosmetic surgery is part of the job. While others may keep it private, I choose to be open about it." He elaborated further, "In Korea, there's a procedure called bone therapy. I started doing it after I turned 30." Host Maria Luisa Leitao praised Jackson for his honesty, to which he replied, "There's nothing wrong with it. Cosmetic surgery is part of an entertainer's professional responsibilities."
Jackson also reflected on the sacrifices and challenges of being in the entertainment industry. "Every profession has its own hardships. For instance, with the Magic Man tour, if I suddenly gained weight, neglected my skin, or let my dance routines slip, I wouldn't be the same Magic Man. So, I always try my best."
During the encore segment of his Bangkok tour launch, a male fan kissed Jackson on stage. While some might see this as shocking, Jackson took it in stride, joking, "That's not really crazy." He then casually remarked on his boundaries, saying, "Taking off my pants is okay, but not my underwear. Of course, this is all hypothetical… who knows, maybe three years from now, I'll have already done it."
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Jackson is the first male singer to succeed in debuting as a K-pop idol after training in Korea. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, English, and Korean, Jackson humbly admitted, "I don't fully master any of them." He also opened up about receiving criticism for his Cantonese pronunciation in his songs. "People would say, 'What are you singing?' or 'You have lazy tones.' I used to be confident in my Cantonese, but after reading those comments, I realized I was far from perfect."
Sharing his struggles during his low points, Jackson admitted to turning to alcohol as a coping mechanism. "Sometimes I'd drink until I passed out on the street. But growing up, I always knew that drinking to numb yourself doesn't solve anything. It's easier said than done when it's your own reality."
