The traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar divides a year into 24 solar terms. Xiaoxue (Minor Snow) is the 20th solar term.
The ancients said, “When it snows during Xiaoxue, the coming year will surely be abundant.” What falls softly is not just snow, but also the nourishment and embrace of the universe for all living things. During this season, wrap your scarf tightly, take a bite of soft, roasted persimmons, and enjoy a warm bowl of mutton soup.
