A cold front will cross the Guangdong coast tonight until early Tuesday (Nov. 18). Following this, strong northeast monsoon winds and a broad cloud band will impact the area, resulting in notable winds and a significant drop in temperature through the middle of the week, with inland areas feeling quite cold.
The Hong Kong Observatory predicts that today (Nov. 17) will be generally fine and warm during the day, but the north winds will gradually strengthen in the evening. On Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will drop significantly, with a minimum of only 14 degrees.
According to the observatory's nine-day weather forecast, today will be generally fine and dry, with temperatures ranging from 22 to 27 degrees. Tuesday will see a notable drop in temperature, with a maximum of 22 degrees and a minimum of 15 degrees, along with one or two brief showers. By Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures will drop further to around 14 degrees, ranging between 14 and 17 degrees, with cool mornings and evenings, and very dry conditions during the day.
Later in the week, temperatures are expected to gradually rise. The observatory indicates that the broad cloud band will thin during the latter part of the week, and the northeast monsoon winds will gradually ease. The weather in southern China will improve, and temperatures will gradually rise, although mornings will still be cool. On Friday, temperatures are expected to slightly rise, ranging between 16 and 21 degrees.
