On Nov. 16, during the women's singles event of the 15th National Games table tennis competition, Wang Manyu claimed victory over Sun Yingsha with a score of 4-2, leaving Sun Yingsha with a silver medal. After the match, Sun expressed that both players gave their all on the court and that she would take the time to reflect on the match, ultimately giving herself a score of 90 out of 100.
Sun first congratulated Wang on defending her title as the women's singles champion for two consecutive National Games. She noted that in the previous competition, she lost 0-4, and the situation back then seemed even more challenging than this year's match. Today, both players demonstrated their best levels, and aside from the outcome, they both fought hard on the court, with several fluctuations in the scores throughout the match. She stated that Manyu is a competitor she deeply respects and that in training, they are great teammates. This year, they have faced each other in the finals of many tournaments, and they approached this match with the same fighting spirit. Sun mentioned that she would take the time to summarize her performance and quickly adjust her focus for the upcoming team events.
Reflecting on her overall performance in this year's National Games, Sun acknowledged that while there is some regret in losing, she was meticulous in her preparation and adaptability for each match. Overall, she rated her performance as a 90, leaving 10 points for self-reflection, with hopes of continuous improvement.
