According to a report from China News Network, two U.S. law enforcement officers were involved in a traffic accident on the evening of Nov. 14 local time while providing security for Vice President JD Vance's motorcade in Maryville, Tennessee, leaving one officer seriously injured.
Maryville city officials stated that the officers involved were one from the Maryville Police Department's motorcycle unit and one state trooper.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service confirmed that Vice President Vance was in the motorcade at the time. The head of the local field office stated that the protectee was not affected by the incident.
