With the 15th National Games launching on Nov. 9 across six Hong Kong venues, CLP has executed detailed power supply plans and emergency response protocols to ensure uninterrupted electricity for all competition sites.
As Hong Kong's primary electricity provider serving over 80% of the population, CLP established a specialized task force that has completed thorough inspections of power equipment and implemented grid reinforcement projects at all competition venues. The company has conducted multiple emergency drills in coordination with government departments to enhance operational readiness.
In alignment with the "Green National Games" initiative, CLP is sponsoring Renewable Energy Certificates to cover all Games venues and operational facilities, enabling the use of zero-carbon electricity throughout the Hong Kong events.
During the Games period, CLP engineers will maintain 24/7 monitoring of power supply systems to ensure optimal performance. Additional support measures include:
- Installing temporary charging facilities and providing portable power banks
- Deploying backup power generation capacity
- Arranging special viewing experiences for underprivileged communities
- Mobilizing company volunteers to assist with event operations
"Through these comprehensive measures, we are committed to supporting Hong Kong's successful hosting of this national sporting event while promoting sustainable development and community engagement," a CLP spokesperson stated.
