The diving competition at the 2025 National Games continues today (Nov. 6), with two gold medals to be decided. Today's women's synchronized 10m Platform event will see Quan Hongchan going for her second gold medal, which also marks her final appearance at the 15th National Games.
On Nov. 2, she made a perfect return in the women's team synchronized 10m platform event, helping Guangdong Team secure the gold medal.
The gold medal was hard-won, Guangdong’s diving team coach stated earlier that her tibia and ankle joint are currently injured, and she was persevering through the competition. He noted that while it wasn't apparent to everyone, her body was in fact covered with kinesiology tape from various injuries, and she was having a very tough time, in considerable pain every day, managing with ice packs, while still taking jumps after jumps. For this reason, she did not register for the individual events in this competition.
Today, two gold medals in diving are set to be awarded at the National Games. The finals of the women's synchronized 10m Platform and the men's synchronized 3m Springboard will take place at 6:00 pm and 8:24 pm respectively, featuring top-tier showdowns among elite pairs such as Quan Hongchan/Wang Weiying and Xie Siyi/Huang Bowen, among others.
