In preparation for the opening of the 15th National Games on Nov. 9, the Hong Kong segment of the torch relay was held today (Nov. 2), featuring 50 torchbearers. Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rosanna Law, lit the ceremonial cauldron, after which Acting Chief Executive Eric Chan ignited the torch and presented it to the crowd.

The relay commenced at the Tamar Government Headquarters, passing through the Central and Western District Promenade, the Wan Chai Temporary Waterfront Garden, and the Golden Bauhinia Square. The torch then crossed Victoria Harbor via ferry and continued through the Star Ferry Bus Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui and Salisbury Road, before transitioning to an open-top bus. The route concluded at the Kai Tak Sports Park Bus Stop, proceeding through the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground and Kai Tak Sports Avenue before entering the Central Plaza of Kai Tak Sports Park. The final torchbearer lit the cauldron and concluded the ceremony.

Among the 50 torchbearers for the Hong Kong segment, the first was Hong Kong men's table tennis representative Wong Chun-ting, who passed the torch to renowned national women's fencing team member Sun Yiwen. Other athletes participating in the relay included Hong Kong women's swimmer Stephanie Au, retired rugby player Salom Yiu, and women's fencer Kaylin Hsieh, who served as the final torchbearer.
