The high-profile couple, Mr. Ho and Mrs. Ho, who previously gained public attention after a television interview, were allegedly involved in a physical altercation in the lift len Mun estate. Both sustained injuries and were hospitalized, leading to charges against them.

The case was heard in the District Court today (Oct. 30), attracting a large audience. The court was informed that Mrs. Ho could not appear in court due to hospitalization for psychiatric issues. Judge suggested the prosecution consider separating the two cases for handling. He adjourned Mrs. Ho's case to November 13 and Uncle Ho's case to January 13 next year. During this period, Mr. Ho continues to be granted bail under the original conditions, while Mrs. Ho, due to her hospitalization, is temporarily exempt from reporting to the police.

At the hearing, the prosecution stated they had received a notification from the hospital this morning indicating that Mrs. Ho had been admitted on October 27 due to psychiatric problems, and "the discharge date is unknown." Judge suggested the prosecution consider separating the cases of the two defendants and also inquired whether the charges against Mrs. Ho might be amended. Judge further noted that typically, a defendant's bail should be revoked if they are hospitalized before a court hearing. However, considering that revoking bail might lead to Mrs. Ho being remanded in custody upon discharge—which could be unfair—he permitted her to continue on bail, with a temporary exemption from police reporting due to her medical condition. Mrs. Ho's case was adjourned to November 13.

Mr. Ho appeared in court personally this morning. Judge inquired about his physical condition, to which Mr. Ho mentioned he requires a follow-up appointment on December 31 due to a finger injury. Judge also asked if he had sought legal aid. Ho responded, "I don't know how to find it." The judge advised him to go to the Legal Aid Department immediately after today's hearing to seek assistance. Mr. Ho's case was adjourned to January 13 next year, and he continues to be granted bail under the original conditions while awaiting the next hearing.

The defendants, Ho Huen (77, retired) and Yip Sau-ting (44, homemaker), are each charged with one count of wounding with intent. The charge alleges that on May 30, 2025, in Tuen Mun, they unlawfully and maliciously wounded each other with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
