On Oct. 27, a press conference for the torch relay for the 15th National Games of the People's Republic of China was held in Guangzhou. It was announced that the torch relay launch ceremony will take place at 9:00 am on Nov. 2 at Lianhuashan Park in Shenzhen. Hong Kong, Macao, and Guangzhou will then hold their own starting ceremonies, with the torch relay commencing simultaneously.
After the torch relay concludes, representatives from the four cities will return the flame to Guangzhou. A ceremony will be held that afternoon at the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center to connect the torch relay at the opening ceremony of the 15th National Games with the lighting of the main torch.
A total of 200 torchbearers—50 in each city—will carry the flame across distances of 50 to 100 meters each. The relay will start at 9 am in Shenzhen's Lianhuashan Park, with Hong Kong, Macao, and Guangzhou commencing their segments at 9:30 am.
The routes are designed to blend cultural heritage with modern landmarks. Guangzhou will highlight its history as a "millennial commercial capital," while Shenzhen will showcase its role as a pioneering "open city."
Torchbearers were selected from diverse fields, including sports, model workers, and frontline contributors, with special representation from grassroots occupations such as delivery riders and nurses.
A flame-combining ceremony will be held in Guangzhou later that day, symbolizing the unity and connectivity of the Greater Bay Area's "one-hour living circle."
