US President Donald Trump called a reporter 'third-grade' after he was questioned about the upcoming ballroom plans.
US President Donald Trump plans to build a new banquet hall at the White House, with recent reports indicating that the entire East Wing will be demolished, which is seen as a violation of his previous promise to "not alter the existing structures of the White House." Some experts have raised concerns about the government's transparency regarding the banquet hall construction project. On October 22, a reporter asked Trump, "Your response to people who said that you haven't been transparent enough?" In response, Trump said, "I haven't been transparent? Really? I've shown this to everybody that would listen. Third-rate reporters didn't see it because they didn't even look. You're a third-rate reporter, always have been."
He also presented the renderings of the banquet hall, stating that these pictures have been widely reported, saying, "We are very proud of it; it's gotten great reviews."
According to a report by The Wall Street Journal on July 31, Trump plans to spend US$200 million to build a Mar-a-Lago-style banquet hall in the East Wing of the White House.
