Alibaba Group's second-hand goods platform giant, Xianyu, has officially launched its overseas version, Goofish, in Hong Kong. The platform allows users to buy and sell second-hand items, with its standout feature being the AI Instant Valuation tool. The system automatically identifies the item's category and condition, providing an instant price estimate. It also integrates with Taobao accounts, enabling users to resell unwanted Taobao purchases with one click. To celebrate the launch, Goofish is offering a limited-time zero-commission promotion.

Now available on the HK App Store and Google Play, the Goofish app lets HK users trade second-hand goods with ease. Users can quickly log in using their Taobao account or mobile number, upload photos and details of items for sale, and list them on the platform.

The AI Instant Valuation feature is a key highlight. By simply uploading a photo, the system accurately identifies the item's category, brand, and condition. It then provides a suggested price based on market trends. Users can also edit the suggested price if desired. Additionally, the system automatically generates titles and descriptions for listings, simplifying the posting process and making it highly user-friendly.

For transactions, buyers can click "Buy" directly on the listing or use the "Message Seller" feature to negotiate or inquire. The platform supports AlipayHK and bank card payments, offering transaction protection by holding funds until the buyer confirms receipt of the item. However, the platform does not support unconditional returns. Refunds or returns are only available if the item received does not match the description, is damaged, or in cases of fraud.

Goofish also allows seamless integration with Taobao accounts, enabling users to resell idle or incorrect Taobao purchases with one click. Listings for such items are clearly labeled as "Resold from Taobao", along with the original price for buyers' reference.

The platform charges a 5% transaction service fee on each order. Buyers are also subject to a payment processing fee: 1.5% of the item price for Alipay payments or 2.7% + HK$1.6 for bank card payments. However, from now until Oct. 31, Goofish is waiving the transaction service fee as part of its limited-time zero-commission promotion.
