The Hong Kong Observatory announced today (Oct. 15) that under the influence of an upper-air anticyclone, Guangdong will experience generally fine and hot weather for the rest of this week. However, a northeast monsoon is expected to arrive in southern China on Sunday, bringing a significant drop in temperatures next week.
Additionally, a low-pressure area is forecast to develop over the waters east of the Philippines later this week. This system is expected to approach the Luzon region over the weekend and may subsequently enter the northeastern part of the South China Sea. However, its path and intensity remain uncertain.
Under the combined influence of the northeast monsoon and the low-pressure system, the coastal areas of southern China will experience strong winds and a few showers from early to mid-next week.
Temperatures in HK are predicted to drop significantly, with next Monday's forecast showing a range of 24°C to 29°C, and next Wednesday's temperatures falling further to between 22°C and 26°C.
