
The 2025 World Snooker Xi'an Grand Prix will be held from October 7 to 13 in the capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
Elite players, including reigning world champion Zhao Xintong, Ding Junhui, Ronnie O'Sullivan and defending champion Kyren Wilson will participate in the event which has a total prize of 850,000 pounds (around 1.14 million U.S. dollars).
Looking ahead to the event, Zhao, whose grandfather hailed from Xi'an, said that he would like to bring excellent games to his fans.
"I have been filled with a pure love for snooker. I'd like to express my gratitude to my seniors and members of my team. They make me feel that I'm not fighting alone," he added.
Jiang Guan, deputy general secretary of the Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association, said the competition will promote snooker in northwest China and bring new vitality to the growth of Chinese snooker.
