
The Hong Kong Observatory has issued the Strong Wind Signal No. 3, which will remain in effect until at least 10 p.m. tonight. The Observatory is closely monitoring the intensity of Typhoon Matmo, its proximity to the Pearl River Estuary, and local wind conditions to determine whether a higher tropical cyclone warning signal is necessary.

In response to the typhoon, Cathay Pacific has announced on its official website that rebooking fees for flights departing on Oct. 5 will be waived. The fee waiver applies to tickets issued on or before Oct. 3. Passengers must complete any ticket changes by Oct. 5.
Meanwhile, Greater Bay Airlines has also adjusted its flight schedule due to the typhoon, with the following 13 flights affected:
