As part of the "Chinese Culture Festival 2025" and the 5th "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival," this year's carnival also aligns with the 15th National Games and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities & the 9th National Special Olympic Games (HK). Themed "Joy to the City - Passing on the Joy, Welcoming the National Games", the lantern designs incorporate inspirations from the National Games and the Special Olympics while embracing the traditional Chinese philosophy of the five elements—metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. Six thematic lantern displays have been created to reflect this concept.
