The celebration of the National Day, Chinese costume carnival, takes place from September 29 to October 2 at the east lawn of the West Kowloon Cultural District Art Park, with free admission. A highlight of the event is the giant floral lantern display themed "Fairy of Hong Kong," consisting of four large lanterns. The most striking lantern, named "Fairy Zixia," stands at an impressive 12.8 meters, making it the largest single-character floral lantern currently exhibited in Hong Kong.
The event was illuminated last night (Sept. 29), with actress Athena Chu, who previously played the role of "Fairy Zixia" in a film, serving as the event ambassador.

These lanterns showcase national-level intangible cultural heritage skills in lantern-making, combining traditional Chinese costume culture with modern lighting technology to create a unique visual spectacle. In addition to viewing the giant lanterns, attendees can enjoy a variety of free performances. Models dressed in traditional attire will walk the stage to showcase the elegance of Chinese clothing.

Additionally, there will be an intangible cultural heritage experience zone showcasing Suzhou embroidery, auspicious couplets, lacquer fans, and other heritage items; a cultural market displaying creative products with cultural characteristics; and special booths where attendees can engage in Chinese costume experiences, try their hand at making traditional silk scarves and sachets, and participate in interactive games for families.
