Typhoon Ragasa is beginning to move away from Hong Kong, and the No. 10 hurricane signal is expected to remain in effect for some time. The Hospital Authority reported that as of 8 am today (Sept. 24), 19 citizens were injured during the storm and received treatment in public hospital emergency departments, including 11 men and 8 women.
As at 9 am, the Home Affairs Department opened 50 temporary shelters in various districts and 765 people sought refuge at the shelters.
Regarding reports of fallen trees, the Government's 1823 Call Centre, the Fire Services Department and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department received 94 reports, 175 reports and one report respectively as at 10 am.
In addition, as at 10 am, the Civil Engineering and Development Department received one report of landslide while the Drainage Services Department received 12 reports of flooding.
According to the Hospital Authority, as at 9 am, 33 people (20 males and 13 females) were injured during the typhoon period. They received medical treatments at the Accident and Emergency departments of public hospitals.
