Preview: As Typhoon Ragasa nears, Hong Kong is currently under Standby Signal No. 1. According to the Hong Kong Observatory, Ragasa will move across the Luzon Strait into the northern South China Sea today (Sept. 22), and Strong Wind Signal No. 3 will be issued at 9:40 pm. The weather will worsen tomorrow afternoon (Sept. 23), with the No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal possibly issued between 1 and 4 pm. On Wednesday (Sept. 24), severe conditions will persist—strong to gale-force winds, heavy rain, thunderstorms, and large waves are expected, especially in offshore and high areas.
