US President Donald Trump attended a state banquet at Windsor Castle during his official state visit to the UK on the evening of Sept. 17.

In his speech before the banquet, UK King Charles III highlighted the historical alliance between the US and the UK, noting their shared sacrifices during the two World Wars and their continued unity as allies today. He also expressed hope for deeper economic cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing that there is potential to "go further" in this regard.
Trump thanked the UK for inviting him on his second state visit and described the relationship between the two countries as "two notes of the same chord," stating that even the word "special" could not fully capture the depth of their bond.
This event marked the first meeting between King Charles III and Trump since Charles ascended to the throne.
Meanwhile, large protests were held outside Windsor Castle and in nearby areas by British citizens opposing Trump's state visit. The demonstration, organized by a group called "Stop Trump Coalition," saw participants carrying signs with slogans such as "Hate doesn't make any nation great." Protesters chanted "Leave the UK" and "Trump not welcome here" along the main street outside Windsor Castle. Some demonstrators also projected video footage of Trump's past association with Jeffrey Epstein onto buildings, expressing discontent over his presence in the UK.
