Chief Executive John Lee announced today (Sept. 16) that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, in collaboration with various sectors, has planned a wide range of National Day (Oct. 1) celebrations and city-wide discounts to mark the occasion. Highlights include half-price movie tickets, free tram and Star Ferry rides, and dining offers at over 1,000 restaurants.
Lee also revealed that a flag-raising ceremony will take place in the morning, and the day will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display over Victoria Harbour, featuring more than 30,000 fireworks lighting up the night sky.
