The death of Kirk has sparked a wave of far-right mobilization in Europe and the US. On Friday (Sept. 12), The Guardian reported that UK far-right activist Tommy Robinson is using the Kirk murder case as an excuse to organize the largest far-right rally in the UK in decades, scheduled for Saturday (Sept. 13), with an expected attendance of 110,000 people.
The report states that demonstrators waved British flags, as well as American and Israeli flags, and donned Trump's "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) red hats, chanting anti-immigration slogans and criticizing Prime Minister Starmer. Police estimate that around 110,000 participated, with the scale of the rally exceeding expectations. Officers encountered violent attacks while trying to prevent some from straying off the route, resulting in 26 police officers injured, four of whom were seriously hurt, and 25 arrests.
The rally's organizer, Robinson, is the founder of the far-right group English Defence League (EDL), known for promoting anti-Islam and anti-immigration agendas. He has previously been sentenced to 19 months in prison for contempt of court. Recently, Robinson announced that he has joined a new party called "Advance UK," founded by several former senior members of the UK far-right Reform Party, which is set to officially launch next month.
Robinson views this event as a fundraising opportunity, aiming to raise approximately £ 300,000 (approximately HK$3.16 million).
