The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced yesterday (Sept. 12) that the 2025 SHKP Hong Kong Cyclothon, the city's largest annual cycling event, will be held on November 30. A total of 6,000 spots will be open to local and international cyclists, with registration starting today (Sept. 13) at 10 a.m.

Peter Lam, Chairman of HKTB, stated that over the years, the Hong Kong Cyclothon has provided unprecedented cycling tourism experiences for residents and visitors, showcasing the unique charm of Hong Kong's "sports and tourism" combination. He expressed hope to expand the Hong Kong Cyclothon across the entire Greater Bay Area, collectively building it into an international event tourism brand for the region.

This year's Cyclothon will continue to feature non-competitive events: the "50 km Ride" and the "32 km Ride." The former will pass through "four tunnels and three bridges," starting on Salisbury Road in Tsim Sha Tsui and traversing the Tsing Yi Tunnel, Nam Wan Tunnel, Tsing Ma Bridge, and others, before finishing in Jordan. The latter will pass through "two tunnels and two bridges," including the Tsing Yi Tunnel, Nam Wan Tunnel, Stonecutters Bridge, and Ting Kau Bridge.

For the first time, the "32 km Ride" will introduce the "World University Trophy," inviting university cyclists from Hong Kong, mainland China, and overseas to participate.
