A No. 1 typhoon signal and black rain warning are currently in effect. The 35th Food Expo will be held at the Wan Chai Convention and Exhibition Centre starting today (Aug. 14) for five consecutive days. The opening was originally scheduled for 10 a.m., but due to adverse weather conditions, the Food Expo will open later. The Trade Development Council (TDC) anticipates that the expo will open two hours after the black rain warning signal is lifted.
The TDC stated that the Food Expo, Food Expo Pro, Hong Kong International Tea Fair, Beauty &Wellness Expo, and Home Delights Expo will all have delayed openings. The opening ceremony originally scheduled for 10:30 a.m. today will be canceled, and the International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products will be conducted via online livestream.
The organizers will closely monitor the weather changes and expect to open the Food Expo, Food Expo Pro, Hong Kong International Tea Fair, Beauty &Wellness Expo, and Home Delights Expo two hours after the black rain warning signal is lifted.
According to the latest announcement from the Hong Kong Observatory, the black rain warning signal will remain in effect at least until 11 am.
