A vibrant and playful art exhibition, "Fun Art'er," showcasing the works of four talented local artists – Cheukman Tam, Prudence Mak, Babby Fung, and Clement Yick – is set to open at the showcase, 15/F, Hong Kong Arts Centre, from August 12 to 24.
"Fun Art'er" brings together the distinctive styles of these artists, presenting nearly 300 unique pieces designed to evoke joy and offer a refreshing artistic experience.
Ceramic artist Cheukman Tam uses large-scale marine life sculptures to raise environmental awareness, complemented by soothing ceramic figurines and paintings that offer a moment of tranquillity for urban dwellers. Prudence Mak, founder of the Chocolate Rain brand, recreates a childhood dreamscape with a 1.2-meter-tall patchwork dress, mushroom-shaped fibreglass figures, and a Volkswagen children's car, alongside a series of 12 circular paintings.
Self-taught painter Babby Fung presents her signature "chubby" characters in nearly one hundred paintings, capturing the humorous moments of everyday female life. Creative Director Clement Yick invites viewers on a journey between the sky and the forest, depicting scenes of kite-flying, encounters with aliens, and other moments of uninhibited playfulness.
Admission to the exhibition is free and open to the public. An opening reception will be held on August 15th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. All art enthusiasts are warmly invited to attend.
