Hong Kong singer Eason Chan's (Eason) nearly three-year-long FEAR and DREAMS World Tour concluded the night before last at the Galaxy Arena in Macao. The performance lasted four hours, with an exceptionally energetic Eason singing over 30 classic songs and delivering a surprise encore of 12 additional tracks, ending only at 12:24 a.m.—yet he didn't seem out of breath all night.
During the show, Eason was moved multiple times by the fans' enthusiasm and emotionally shared his current Dreams and Fear, celebrating this historic final moment with his fans through his voice and sincerity.
The night before marked Eason's 182nd and final show. Despite previously revealing in a documentary that he had developed anxiety due to pressure and needed medication, Eason delivered an outstanding performance that night, giving his all in singing and dancing while constantly moving around the stage—waving to fans, making heart gestures, and even standing on the railing to sing at one point. The fans responded with overwhelming excitement, with nonstop cheers, applause, and screams throughout the night, leaving Eason visibly moved to tears multiple times.
For the first time in public, Eason thanked his wife and daughter while considerately asking the audience not to stare at them to avoid making his family uncomfortable. He also fiercely defended his manager, joking about online criticism: "If you're so capable, why don't you do the job?!" He especially thanked the entire concert team, saying, "Thank you all for the love you've given me. I'll slowly share that love back—let's keep spreading it. The world really needs it."
Teased by the band with a high-difficulty challenge
For the final show, Eason went above and beyond after the planned setlist, treating fans to a surprise one-hour encore. At one point, he jokingly pretended to be jealous, teasing, "It'll be a while before my next tour—you're not allowed to listen to other singers! Just kidding. In fact, I recommend listening to more classical music; it cleanses the soul."
He also shared emotionally, "After this, I can finally take time to see the world. My biggest fear was how to maintain my condition. I've enjoyed every night with all of you, but at the same time, I was afraid because if I got sick, I wouldn't be able to perform. Now, I can move toward my dreams and leave the fear behind."
Eason expressed gratitude for being fortunate enough to have so many great songs. The band then suggested he sing "Under Mount Fuji," to which he retorted, "Do you know how hard that is to sing?" Unexpectedly, the band immediately started playing the even more challenging "Exaggerated." Despite having sung all night, Eason fearlessly took on the challenge, showcasing his top-tier vocals.
After finishing, he playfully pretended to pant with his tongue out and rubbed his stomach, joking, "Now I'm getting hungry."
After 11 consecutive songs, Eason returned for another encore with a guitar. Before performing his debut song "Shi Dai Qu" acoustically, he shared that he had been thinking about which song to use as the tour's finale. This track was his first co-written with a producer back when he didn't know how to compose, and its lyrics and arrangement were excellent—a product of its era. Now, with half his life behind him, he wanted to return to his roots and dedicate this song to everyone.
Before leaving the stage, he waved enthusiastically and said, "Thank you all, until we meet again. Thank you, love you, good night!"
Splurging HK$2 million to thank his "comrades"
That night, Eason skipped media interviews to attend the celebratory banquet and thank his team, but made a special appearance to express gratitude to the press. At the banquet, he generously spent HK$2 million of his own money to create 999 pure gold commemorative coins and platinum coins for the 23 "full-attendance comrades" who followed all 182 shows and 190 crew members.
Eason spent the entire banquet mingling, toasting, taking photos, and hugging everyone. When asked about tearing up during "Shi Dai Qu," he said, "I don't remember if I cried, but I remember enjoying the happiness of singing while playing the guitar. It felt amazing."
Previously, he had opened up about developing anxiety due to tour pressure. Now that the tour was over, Eason said he could finally try going off medication: "The doctor said I can try stopping the pills! I will. Right now, I have no worries—nothing to fret about. I feel completely relaxed, haha. (Will you travel the world during your break?) All I know is I'll truly let myself rest! But not this month, because I still have to promote the tour documentary screenings in a few different places."
