According to a report by Sanxiang Metropolis Daily (Sanxiangdushi Bao), Eason Chan recently revealed at the premiere of the documentary "FEAR and DREAMS: NOW is the only reality" that he had been suffering from anxiety after his concert in Hangzhou. The immense pressure left him unable to stop taking medication, as he would feel tense whenever he tried to quit.

Chan shared that after the cancellation of the Hangzhou concert, the stress became overwhelming, prompting a doctor to prescribe medication (which the doctor assured had no side effects). He has been taking the medication ever since, following his doctor's advice to continue until the tour was over.

During the tour, he occasionally attempted to stop taking the medication but experienced severe rebound effects. Even on days when he slept well and felt emotionally stable, the anxiety would return if he didn't take the medication. He attributed this to the body's chemical reactions, which were beyond his control. As a result, he plans to stop taking the medication only after completing the tour.

Eason Chan's health has frequently been a topic of concern.

In May last year, prior to the fifth show of his "FEAR and DREAMS" tour in Hangzhou, Chan suddenly announced on-site that the concerts scheduled for May 25 and 26 had to be canceled due to voice loss. Apologizing tearfully on stage, he said, "I must apologize again," and promised that the concerts would be rescheduled. His emotional apology left countless fans heartbroken.

In May this year, Chan once again halted all performances due to illness. He expressed his regret on social media, saying: "It's truly unfortunate… After waiting 12 years for the Kaohsiung Arena, I couldn't believe a virus ruined it overnight. I deeply apologize for disappointing the audience and causing trouble for the team. I will follow medical advice, focus on recovery, and return to Kaohsiung as soon as possible to meet you all on stage."

Subsequently, fake news reports surfaced on social media claiming that "Eason Chan had passed away due to COVID-19 complications," accompanied by unclear videos and old photos. These rumors spread across major platforms, causing widespread panic among fans.

On May 22, a fan shared a video of encountering Chan in Kaohsiung. He was dressed in a white T-shirt and sunglasses, appearing low-key but in good spirits, even waving at fans present.
