The third day of the WTT Champions Yokohama tournament brought intense competition, with China's Lin Shidong narrowly losing 2–3 to Germany's Qiu Dang in the men's singles round of 16, ending his journey to the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Chen Xingtong dominated Canada's Zhang Mo with a commanding 3–0 victory in the women's singles round of 16, advancing to the quarterfinals.
In the women's singles match, Chen Xingtong displayed exceptional form, defeating Zhang Mo in straight sets with scores of 11–6, 11–3, and 11–7. Chen will face the winner of the match between Miwa Harimoto and Hina Hayata in the next round.
In the men's singles round of 16, Qiu Dang outlasted Lin Shidong in a thrilling five-game match, with scores of 13–11, 4–11, 6–11, 11–6, and 12–10. After the match, Qiu expressed his excitement: "I'm very happy to come out on top. Everyone is playing at such a high level now, and every match is tough, but there are always opportunities."
