The Gifford Fire in California has been burning for several days, and as of Aug. 6 (local time), it has scorched over 83,000 acres (approximately 336 square kilometers).
Time-lapse videos show the fire rapidly spreading with thick smoke and flames, particularly intensifying at night. According to local media reports, over a thousand firefighters are working tirelessly to combat the blaze from both the ground and air. The US National Weather Service has forecast that the fire risk in Southern California will further increase in the coming week due to high winds.
Earlier reports indicated that in January, the century fire broke out in Los Angeles, expanding to over 9,400 acres in less than a day.
