MTR carriage features 'waterfall': Passengers ask, 'What's so surprising?' (DDN)

Yesterday (Aug. 5), black rain hit Hong Kong, and videos circulated online showing water continuously dripping from the ceiling of an MTR carriage, resembling a "waterfall." This sparked heated discussions among netizens, with some expressing concerns about potential electrical hazards, while others felt it was nothing to worry about.

Many users shared videos on the social media platform Threads, showing rainwater dripping into the MTR carriage. One passenger humorously remarked, "Even the subway has a waterfall," while another questioned, "What's going on? It's raining inside," expressing frustration, "I was already soaked from the heavy rain outside, and now sitting here, I'm even wetter."

In several videos, rainwater can be seen falling inside the carriage as if it were raining, creating the appearance of an indoor "waterfall," with large puddles forming on the floor. However, the passengers inside seemed largely unaffected, continuing with their activities as usual.
