A Black Rainstorm Warning Signal was issued this morning (Aug. 5) and is expected to remain in effect until at least 3 pm. The Hospital Authority announced that severe flooding has occurred on some roads within Queen Mary Hospital, disrupting emergency services. The Hospital Authority also stated that it will closely monitor the situation to ensure other emergency services are not affected.
By noon, Queen Mary Hospital confirmed that floodwaters near the emergency department had been cleared, affected roads reopened, and emergency services and ambulance transport returned to normal. The hospital expressed gratitude to the Drainage Services and Fire Services Departments for their swift action in resolving the situation.
