On July 27, Chief Executive John Lee led his team of 21 Principal Officials to the 2025 Policy Address District Forum, held at Ma Tau Chung Government Primary School (Hung Hom Bay). The forum aimed to gather feedback and suggestions from local community members regarding the fourth Policy Address of the current government. Approximately 120 attendees from various backgrounds participated.
The two-hour forum included two sessions. In the first session, Lee and officials listened to public concerns covering a wide range of topics, such as land and housing, transportation, innovation and technology, financial services, culture and sports, education, youth issues, poverty alleviation, health care, and social welfare. The second session involved participants dividing into four groups focused on "pursuing development and economic growth" and "improving people's livelihood and building our future together," allowing for more in-depth discussions with the Chief Executive and officials. Lee engaged with each group, listening to their perspectives.
Lee emphasized the importance of public input, stating, "There are issues that members of the public care deeply about, so I attach great importance to district consultations. This morning, my team and I attended the Policy Address District Forum, engaging in extensive exchanges with the public and learning about their concerns. These views will let me have a better grasp on formulating policies and allocation of resources when I prepare the Policy Address."
