
The Hong Kong Observatory announced this morning (July 23) that a tropical depression east of the Luzon Strait has intensified into a tropical storm, officially named Francisco. As of 10:00 a.m., Francisco was located approximately 670 kilometers southeast of Okinawa, moving northwest at a speed of about 22 kilometers per hour, heading towards the Ryukyu Islands region.
In terms of Hong Kong's weather, the day will be mostly cloudy with a few showers. There will be brief periods of sunshine during the day, while isolated thunderstorms are expected later in some areas. Moderate easterly winds will prevail.
Tomorrow, HK will continue to experience scattered showers, while approaching the weekend and early next week, sunny intervals are expected during the day, with hot daytime temperatures but occasional localized showers.
Meanwhile, tropical depression Wipha has weakened into a low-pressure area.
