As tropical cyclone Wipha continues to move away from Hong Kong, local wind speeds have eased further. At 5:10 a.m. today (July 21), the Hong Kong Observatory canceled all tropical cyclone warning signals.
However, the Observatory forecasts that Wipha's outer rainbands will continue to bring occasional heavy showers, thunderstorms, and squally winds to HK throughout the day. Rainfall could be intense at times, and rough seas are expected to persist. Residents are urged to stay vigilant, steer clear of coastal areas, and avoid water-related activities.
Today's weather in HK will remain cloudy, with occasional showers, thunderstorms, and periods of heavy rain. The maximum daytime temperature is forecasted to be around 29°C. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds are expected, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground, with rough seas.
Looking ahead, occasional showers will persist over the next couple of days, with weather conditions gradually improving later in the week.
