As Typhoon Wipha hits Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Observatory issued the first Hurricane No. 10 Signal of the year this morning (July 20). Amidst the heavy rain and strong winds, several areas across the city experienced fallen trees. During this critical time, the Hong Kong police demonstrated their commitment, with front-line teams including patrol units, the Emergency Unit, and traffic personnel working overnight to clear fallen trees, assist citizens, and maintain road safety.
The police remind the public that although Wipha is gradually moving away, severe winds and rain will continue to affect the region. Citizens are advised to remain vigilant and avoid going out unless absolutely necessary.
