As Typhoon Wipha approaches, the Hurricane No. 10 Signal was issued today (July 20) at 9:20 a m. The Hong Kong Observatory anticipates an average wind speed of 118 kilometers per hour or more in Hong Kong. A reporter from DotDotNews was on-site at Heng Fa Chuen at 9:30 am to capture the situation as Wipha arrived.
The Observatory expects the weather to remain severe throughout the day, with strong winds and heavy rain, as well as giant waves and surges at sea. They urge citizens not to go outside at this time, to stay away from windows and doors facing the wind, and to seek shelter in a safe place while monitoring changes in wind direction.
