The Strong Wind Signal No. 3 is currently in effect. The Hong Kong Observatory will upgrade to the No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal between midnight and 2:00 a.m. tomorrow (July 20).

Today, Wing Yeung Tat-wing, general manager of Airport Authority terminal operations, stated that flight services tonight are operating largely as normal. However, while 900 flights were originally scheduled for tomorrow, a significant number are expected to be canceled or delayed.

Yeung pointed out that there will be no passenger flights departing before noon tomorrow, with only some long-haul flights arriving. He urged travelers to check the latest flight status and confirm their seats with airlines before heading to the airport. The Airport Authority will activate flight rescheduling procedures to reassign flights once the storm weakens.

Yeung further explained that under the No. 8 signal, the airport will implement an electronic taxi dispatch system. However, if a higher signal is issued, taxi services will be suspended, and all ground transportation to and from the airport will come to a complete halt. Passengers will need to remain inside the terminal building until weather conditions improve, and waiting times may be extended. He asked for the passengers' understanding in this situation.

The airport has already activated its emergency operations center. Restaurants and convenience stores within the airport will remain open overnight, with over 1,000 staff members working through the night to ensure smooth airport operations.
